The war mercilessly punishes businesses for every past mistake or a shortcut taken, illustrating to the whole world why our current production and consumption models are unsustainable and must be adjusted for our physical survival in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the very first day of the war the established supply chains have suffered severe interruptions in the goods delivery to shops, consumers, logistic hubs, even physical access to the business location \u2013 all become rather complicated and even challenging at times; centralized energy, water, and heating supply turn to be way less reliable. It turned out that the existing food chains are not designed with the flexibility that allows fast response to such challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this analytical series, we endeavor to review the vulnerability of the existing production and supply chains to the wartime threats and what can be done to improve the physical and economical sustainability of businesses and individual lives under emergency conditions, in particular for agribusinesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fossil fuel use in war conditions increases risks <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the midst of the heavy fighting campaign that russia started at the end of winter 2022 in Ukraine the other campaign gained momentum \u2013 the spring sowing campaign, which success was undermined not only due to the heavy fighting on the fields to be worked on, but also due to a shortage of diesel fuel, needed for running the agricultural machinery <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dossier.org.ua\/en\/news\/fossil-fuels-during-hostilities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">>>><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wetlands are of strategic importance not only for sustainability and nature conservation but also for the military and population\u2019s safety<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wetlands provide a wide variety of vital services for nature preservation, agriculture, tourism, and climate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dossier.org.ua\/en\/news\/strategic-importance-of-wetlands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">>>><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":1425,"template":"","news-rubrics":[67],"class_list":["post-2290","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","news-rubrics-chronicles-of-war-en"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.3 -
