{"id":3776,"date":"2024-09-12T18:22:23","date_gmt":"2024-09-12T15:22:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dossier.org.ua\/news\/compass27\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T11:35:13","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T08:35:13","slug":"compass27","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.dossier.org.ua\/en\/news\/compass27\/","title":{"rendered":"Compass web portal added Sustainable Agriculture section"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/compass27.info\/acts\/?s=&amp;sortby=cat&amp;cat%5B%5D=60\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">A section on sustainable agriculture<\/a> has been added to &#8220;Compass &#8211; your green roadmap to EU membership&#8221; web portal, created by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rac.org.ua\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Resource-Analytical Center &#8220;Society and Environment&#8221;<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/compass27.info\/pro-proyekt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&#8220;Compass&#8221;<\/a> web portal focuses on environment and climate change issues relevant to the EU Accession negotiation process (Chapter 27) &#8211; it is an online tool for everyone working on or is interested in the process of Ukraine&#8217;s accession to the EU when environment and climate crisis are concerned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why did we and the partner organization of the RAC &#8220;Society and Environment&#8221; decide to add EU legal acts on sustainable agriculture to the portal?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The EU&#8217;s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is closely related to the European Green Deal and environmental legislation as a tool for realization of the EU&#8217;s environmental and climate ambitions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Without adjusting CAP the achievement of EU climatic and environmental ambition is not possible: agriculture has significant environmental impact as it is responsible for about 11% of EU greenhouse gas emissions, is the main water user and polluter of water, is one of the biggest factors in natural ecosystems\u2019 degradation, biodiversity loss and climate resilience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The agricultural production can contribute greatly to climate neutrality and climate when sustainable production methods are employed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainably managed agroecosystems can provide various ecosystem services, which are heavily relied upon in reaching targets set in European Green Deal and Biodiversity Strategy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CAP is one of the foundation stones the European Union was built upon.
