The Carpathian way of Ukraine’s European integration

The Carpathian way of Ukraine’s European integration
Winter session of the International Carpathian School – February 21-25, 2024.

For the first time in four years, about 50 participants from all over Ukraine had the opportunity to finally meet in person. And more than 100 people participated remotely.

International Carpathian School, founded in 2011 in the nice Carpathian town Kosiv, usually focused on protection and sustainable development of the Carpathians. But this time the topic of the meeting goes far beyond the scope of the Carpathian region.

Scientists from central, eastern and southern Ukraine, from the territories that suffer from the russian invasion, share the results of research on the consequences of military actions. Together with colleagues from the western Ukrainian regions and the countries of the Carpathian Convention, they discuss problems and opportunities of the affected communities, possible ways of restoring our lands, as well as Ukraine’s further steps towards the EU.

The main ones here are boys and girls, students of universities from Sumy, Luhansk, Poltava, Kyiv, Lviv, Chernivtsy, Ivano-Frankivsk, who are making now the first attempts to present their ideas at the international level. It is they who will soon come as specialists to enterprises or scientific institutions to implement the principles of green recovery of Ukraine.

Representatives of the Information Center “Green Dossier” provided a discourse about the role of the Carpathian Convention for the European integration of Ukraine and presented the new project “Green and inclusive agricultural policy – steps towards“.
