Ukraine’s Green Recovery Principles Must Become the Norm

The Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC25) has opened in Rome. The official opening featured the participation of EU leaders, including speeches by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy — reaffirming the EU’s unwavering support for Ukraine.

Working groups from two pro-European platforms prepared a joint position paper ahead of the conference, emphasizing the need to rebuild Ukraine based on the principles of sustainable development and European integration. This approach should be mainstreamed and reflected across all recovery plans and programs.
